Your comment got ‘Askimeted’ – sorry. It was nice to see some real-world views from outside the big markets (US, UK..). In many ways I think Ireland is very similar to Portugal (might be slightly more progressive, but not much). Hopefully we’re improving all the time though :grin:

The one indicator I am looking at is the level of mainstream media mentions of SEO – I am seeing more interest from business people who have no idea about search marketing but are reading about the ‘buzz’.

Market is small but I think it is definitely in growth mode.

I’ve worked in the PPC game for the past 3.5 years with two large media owners and although the opportunities are there, small advertisers are simply not stepping up to the plate in Ireland. Think small depth, low average CPCs and you’ve got a recipe for success. But how many SMEs understand this?

Unfortunately, poor broadband penetration is not helping either.
