First comment though.I'm afraid I cant help you with Defender. I use Spy Sweeper personally and it really does a good job (it's not free but you can download a trial version which scans but does not clean your machine - www.webroot.com). I doubt whether your problem is caused by a conflict. Try uninstalling and reinstalling Defender and see how you get on.Sorry I can't help more - SEO is my thing not security. You could also try asking oer in irishwebmasterforum.com for help (I presume you're Irish?)Rgds

I got my laptop recently and I have the following programmes running. Windows Defender, McAfee and Ad-Aware. I got a virus on my laptop the within the first week so I have learnt the hardware about the dangers of the net!I have also downloaded the Mozilla Firefox although I have to admit I do prefer the Windows Explorer as its what I am used to. Anyway what I wanted to ask you was, when I go to run new definitions / updates on windows defender its giving me the following error code 0x80072ee2.Can you advise me why this is happening, is the defender programme conflicting with the McAfee and Ad-Aware? Which one is the best to use. I have read your posts and I plan to download the Spybot and Spyware blaster programmes that you recommend.

Hi there

I am a computer virgin and I was wondering if you could give me some advice.
