I am getting this on start up as my homepage is set to www.google.com It started when I found Firefox hijacked on this laptop, but fixed it. I guess I’ll have to live with doing this every time I boot up now. UGH. Wish there was a way to ask google to reset it for what? my particular IP addy?

I work in a company with shared IP – one for the whole company, and we get lot’s of captchas every now and then. But I must say that in the last 2 months I’ve not seen one. I guess coworkers are searching less or there s some algorithm on google to recognise this situations.

Nothing new Richard.

I’d be willing to bet that it’s a firefox extension you have installed (I know the screenshot is Chrome).

I know the SEOtoolbar causes it when cache date, DMOZ (G dir) and PR is turned on. IF you have your results set to > 20 it happens.

Google have also been increasing the timeout. I’ve had to wait a few hours to get my IP white again.

SEOquake causes it too.

You’re right though, the message is slightly different.
