I think they edit the show as they would any other. But I imagine there is a good saving on production costs.

Quality will only be bound by bandwidth, and in the long run the costs of bandwidth will tend toward zero so this shouldn’t be an issue.

I was going to take a look at your RTE suggestion – alas YouTube is still banned in Thailand… [and believe it or not quite a bit of the Internet is off bounds to the Thai Internet user].

If it takes off, I’d say CNN will have a hard time filtering out all the useless stuff (akin to what’s on YouTube). I guess the editing effort would be quite high.

In the age of HDTV, I guess this would be a step back in terms of quality ? At least right now, and with CNN’s 30MB upload cap.

As for what RTÉ would put in : maybe something like this ;)
