Great videos… the first one really was interesting and I agree with your comments above about not too much weight being given to ‘font size’. I too am surprised he mentioned it, but hey maybe I’ll do some tests!

Hi Lynda, thanks for dropping by.

I doubt they give much credence to the font size, and I really doubt they will penalise you unless you’re really OTT. Worst case is that they probably filter out any relevance from font size. I think it’s probably a very noisy signal for them to use actually, that’s the main reason I was surprised he mentioned it.

Hi Richard,

thank you for sharing these videos. I too picked up on the comment on font size. Jeff Dean says they look at things such as where the word is in the page, what font size its in, if target page has keyword mentioned on pointing page etc. In the latter, he quite clearly states if they don’t match you’re penalised, but what isn’t clear from his disclosure is: when looking at the font size do they prioritise or penalise larger font size. I’d be interested to hear what you think.
