Got to argee with you. CRO is a good example of poor design over great functionality. While the coding is poor, I've never had a problem filing a form or finding info I need

@Michele, Ciaran - Pro version of Total Validator available from http://www.totalvalidator.com/
@John - It's more just a display of the sloppy coding than anything else. No relation to SEO per-se, but I hate it when government websites don't render correctly or are inaccessible. Believe it or not, but the govt. websites here are not bad by and large. I completed a fairly extensive analysis of the (then) standards of a large sample of Irish public body websites last year. (<a href="http://www.redcardinal.ie/webdev/10-12-2006/irish-egovernment-accessibility-analysis">Irish eGovernment Accessibility Analysis</a>) Sorry about the mouse-wheel - I hadn't realised just how long it was until I looked at the page :)

Interesting analysis. What are you trying to imply with the listing of the errors? Are these errors vital (for what/whom)? Which ones should be fixed first? Which ones influence SEO (and does a site like that really need to be SEOed)?
I constantly have issues with government agencies websites here, it's probably the same all over. With nobody really responsible (or interested) it's close to impossible to get them to change anything. Sigh.
PS Perhaps it would make sense to put long outputs like that into a separate file (and just keep the "beef" here in the posting) - just an idea, my mouse-wheel is almost broken :-).
