  2. Well if you think like the government for a second it makes sense.

They claim that by localising Microsoft software we are the 2nd largest software exporter in the world. The actual IP, skill etc are irrelevant. If the last hands to touch it were Irish then it’s Irish! (there’s a joke there somewhere..)

We’re talking about the same stuff as last year with these awards. How about the Golden Cardinals? You’ve got the logo done, surely that’s half the battle.

  3. My god. If this wasn’t so tragic it would be funny.

    how about the Golden Crabs?

  5. Oh my god!!!!

I admit to have in the past prodived friends with sites modified from a Template Monster template to get them up and running, but I would never put them forward for an award!!!

    Wow… beggars believe….

  6. Haha! I am cracking up here. I knew the Spiders had no meaning but this really takes the biscuit.

  7. I’m also curious to know who actually got shafted here.

Did Colour Glass know they had bought a template?

Do the Spiders know it is a template and they really don’t care once they are getting their money?

  9. Who are the clowns behind these awards? Its so obvious they have no clue about this industry.

Fingers crossed that my new flashy template site gets nominated next year. Oh what I speech I would give at those awards.

  10. Well theres a good idea for both parties,he makes a few bob fair play in this tough industry and colourglass get all that publicity.
Ya cant fault them in the politically correct world of Irish Web Design.Still a nice site though and a kool product!

  11. Hi Sean

I see from your IP you are actually from colourglass.ie. I’m happy you guys are happy with this – it means that you likely knew that the site was based on a template. And I cant knock you for grabbing some publicity.

The real issue is with your site being nominated for ‘Best Indigenous Website’. What is an indigenous website? No matter how you try to explain the meaning of the category, I jst cannot figure how a site based on a Monster template can be classified as ‘indigenous’.

I’m honestly interested to know your take on this – what do you consider indigenous about your site? Other than being for an Irish company?

Best regards, thanks for commenting, and I hope you’ll return to comment more.

  12. It’s a good website.
Looks like alot of work was put into it, like the colour tours etc.

Looks like alot of work was done to it, like the colour tours

  14. @John – why bother going to the trouble of commenting from two different IPs and still using the same name/email?

Apologies if you got bumped or something when you made your first comment.

Would you like to state whether you have any interest or relationship with the site in question?

    Thanks for commenting,
    Richard

  18. menupages.ie vs menupages.com!

    Comment by Bob — November 4, 2007 @ 11:26 pm

  19. @Bob – I don’t see your point at all. One site replicating another. Happens every day. But I don’t think they could be considered to be copying the design?

  20. Another reason to knock the Golder Spiders, and it’s not as if they were running short on things to be knocked about.
