  1. Interesting choice… good one, though not as much of a natural poster boy as Matt

  2. Methinks any new head will have a much lower profile.

I hope Matt is doing good, and no major problems.

  3. So Barry has now recanted that statement. Not sure what to believe, but reckon they'll have to backfill sooner or later. Someone's gotta be driving the bus.

  4. So do I… Let's face it, he's taken an awful lot of crap over the years, and there's only so much even the best of us can take…

There's also a very persistent rumor still making the rounds that JohnMu is set to step into Matt's shoes… presumably fueled by John's hugely public profile but little else.

  5. And you're right… sooner or later someone has to step into the breach.

  6. Who would want to be front-of-house when the moral fundamentals are missing?

I reckon they'll have to clean up the Negative SEO schemozzle before people begin to queue for the job. I also imagine that's one of the things that wore Matt Cutts down, not many people can defend the indefensible.

  7. I spent years volunteering cleaning spam on My.Opera . It really is a job that hones your skills and grows over time. Anyone filling it has to be commited to improving the internet, with no distractions.
