So apparently if you have a manual action revoked but site still affected by algorithmic penalty you get this message:

"We've now reviewed your site. When we review a site, we check to see if it's in violation of our Webmaster Guidelines. If we don't find any problems, we'll reconsider our indexing of your site. If your site still doesn't appear in our search results, check our Help Center for steps you can take.

It's about as useless a message as they could send.  Transparent with webmasters my arse…

  1. Is that scenario confirmed, or suspected?
    What if there's multiple Manuals, and only one/some are rectified?

  2. Suspected at this time.  But I know what the normal messages say, and this one makes no sense.  I hoping to find out though if the recipient had algo penalties also…

    Here's where it came up:

  3. At least I'm allowed to read the stuff there :D

  4. Still – it could be that they haven't removed the issue yet, or that there is more to it, or there is an algo one.

    On the one hand, I wish G were clearer … on the other, I can kind of see why they are hesitant to in some cases.

    Basically, they need to make a few more steps in the right direction before they are doing it right :D

  5. LOL you have to love that message. :)

    So just to be clear, sites should send there list of backlinks to a TC, correct? Should this be a txt file or csv?

  6. That's the original message that they started sending out four years ago ;)

    "This is something we just started doing recently. One of the most requested features from our users was a confirmation message after a reconsideration request was processed. If your site starts showing up in the index after you get the confirmation message, your request was approved. However, if you are still having issues there is a good chance you are still in violation of our guidelines."

  7. Well that's very odd so – the current batch of messages for manual penalties give you a very clear statement that the penalty is one of:
    * still active
    * revoked although some artefacts of the problem still exist
    * fully revoked

    I wonder if this guy is posting something rather old?

  8. I should have been more clear, this particular message is still being sent out ;(

  9. Jesus how they can send a message like that…

    At least the ones I've seen told you if the penalty had been revoked or left in place.

  10. BTW I was walking in the wholesale recently and someone walked by pushing their trolley with a box of Pelagic on it.  You can be sure there was only one person who came to mind +Pe lagic :)
