Need Help with Google?

Google, being the world’s number #1 search engine, can be the bringer of fortune. But sometimes Google can be the giver of great pain. Every day webmasters and site owners face huge challenges when the life-giving traffic Google delivers suddenly dries up. New site owners sometimes cannot even get Google to notice them. Many of these affected folk end up on the closest thing to a support channel Google has for webmasters in despair – the Google Webmaster Help Group.

But Where’s Google?

What many people wont realise is that the ‘Google’ in ‘Google Webmaster Help Group’ relates more to the platform the group is on than the participation of Google within the group. What keeps the group going is a small group of hardcore volunteers who provide support to webmasters in despair. Yep, that’s right, Google rarely if ever helps individuals out at all. It’s all down to the fantastic efforts of the following individuals:

(If anyone would like a new anchor do let me know [\glances at JHL\])

The unsung heros

Those folk listed above have done trojan work to keep the group running and helped countless numbers of webmasters. I think Google owes you all a great service.

If you have issues with Google I strongly recommend posting over on the Group – if you’re lucky one of the folk above might just come along and offer their expert assistance.

To anyone I’ve left out my apologies in advance :)

  1. Hi Richard!

Thanks for the shout-out – and of course, you have left out yourself as one of those beaut people!

  2. Thanks for the reminder Richard – I’d come across this before, but you’ve reminded me to sign up for the group.

  3. @Matt – no probs. I really hope that Google take more action to clean the place up and provide a stronger framework for getting help to those that most need it.

@Paul – no probs. Hope all is well

  4. What Matt said, you’ve left out one of “the brightest SEOs” volunteering in the group (quote by yourself) ;)

Thanks for the link to my hyperlink tutorial.

  5. Hey Sebastian

I’m just a blow-in who doesn’t have enough time to help as much as I’d like

  6. Red, I did not know boris and dockarl is the same person.

But I always figured boris for a duplicate….

If they are not, you should fix boris’s profile anchor link–>

  7. Thanks Igor

I’ll fix that later when I have a chance.

  8. Igor I have never spammed you as you say on your group

And I note that you have added my site to a long list of rather unsavoury websites listed on your ‘honeypot’ site:

    igor’s site.

Thanks for that. Out of curiosity why would you bother coming over here to tell me that I have incorrect links in my post if you think that I am a spammer and a ‘Search Engine Spam Offending Domain’?

I can only feel sorry for you – you are obviously a very sad individual.

  9. Because I want to face each person face to face as an individual.

You were ensnared in JLH foolishness.

I will take you off the list because you showed me respect!

    Thank you and good luck.

  10. Em no Igor. It’s too late now. You published my name and called me a spammer. You included me on a list of ‘Search Engine Spamming Domains’.

Henceforth I will show you the respect you are due – absolutely none. I think you need to get offline and get a life.

  11. Red all done.

  12. Red up to you…you want to be on of the boys like Craig…you will find yourself back on the list!

Maybe you are not Irish after all, but a Brit.

  13. “played intelectual games with me and bashed me with wit and intrege.”

That was my mistake. Next time I will know better than to get into a “battle” with an unarmed man.

You do realize Igor that you just invalidated your already worthless “spam” list, right? Using your “spam” list for personal gain or vendettas, which you yourself prove you are doing, is not what potential users of a spam list might be looking for.

There was a mail server spam list that some guy was running where he put a publishing company on his list for no better reason than because they called him on his phone one too many times, which he also proudly documents on his site just as you do your “reasons” for some of the sites you list. Guess how many companies now use his list? (Hint, try 0)

Also, having to try to convince people that you are part of organizations that you are clearly not associated with is sort of like having to tie a bone around your neck just to get dogs to play with you. You may be fooling yourself but anyone else you might possibly fool will definitely not be in a position to make use of your “services”.

  14. Craig, I have no problem with the list, it is doing its job.
The list is shwoing Googlebot the Spamming domains.

A person is a domain and if one Spams a person that individual is a Spammer, hence the domain.

    No contradictions!

  15. Igor

I’d prefer if you didn’t comment on my blog anymore. You’ve made your position very clear, and I cant say I want anything to do with someone who publishes my company name in the fashion you have. You should count yourself lucky that you are not here in Ireland – I’d have you up in front of a judge as quick as I could drop my hat.

Good day and best of fortune where ever you go form here.

  16. [...] Central teams hang out. Google dumps all sorts of questioners to the forum, where a crowd of hardcore volunteers (aka regulars as Google calls them) invests a lot of time to help out Webmasters and site owners [...]
